Chetna Loomba

Chetna is a third year undergraduate student at Northeastern University majoring in psychology on the pre-med track and aspiring to be a psychiatrist.
Chetna is very interested in stress related research, exploring how adverse experiences impact brain function and physical health. She hopes to someday help improve patient care by applying research findings to better understand and treat mental health conditions.
Her research experience includes working as a Research Assistant at the CORE Lab at Northeastern University under Dr.Coley, where she studies how people organize knowledge, reason about the world, and develop mental frameworks.
In addition to her research, Chetna is committed to community engagement, service, and mentorship. She currently serves as a STEM mentor and Service Chair for Northeastern University’s Science Club for Girls chapter, where she encourages young students from diverse backgrounds to explore various STEM fields. She is also an active member of Alpha Phi Omega, where she participates in community service initiatives and volunteer efforts across local organizations in Boston.
In her free time, Chetna enjoys being in nature, rollerskating, exploring new cities, and spending time with her friends and family.
